If you’re like me, the past 4 years under the Trump regime has left you exhausted from being outraged all the time. Often, the only way I could make it through a Trump news cycle was by watching it through the lens of parodies offered by youtubers or comedians on late night tv.
Covering 4 years of Trump’s chaotic reign, Randy Rainbow [RR]’s parodies injected much needed humor during this dark period. RR’s sketches covered everything from Trump’s racist tweets to his cruel and corrupt policies, culminating in 2020 – a truly hellish year.
In March 2020, the World Health Organization [WHO] declared Covid-19 a worldwide pandemic. Trump’s response? Lying to the public by downplaying the risks and ignoring warnings from public health experts.
The result? The Covid death toll [more than 236,000 American deaths as of Nov 2020] keeps climbing as Trump keeps holding “superspreader campaign events”. A recent study by Stanford University has linked Trump rallies to at least 30,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19, and more than 700 deaths.
“It is what it is” says the superspreader in chief as he jets off on Airforce One, leaving his supporters stranded in the cold after campaign rallies.
By undermining experts and facts, Trump has eroded Americans’ faith in institutions that uphold our democracy – the ballot box [‘rigged elections‘], the media [‘fake news‘] and even science [‘denying climate change, altering CDC’s guidelines on Covid-19, etc.’].
Here is a running list of the Trump administration’s attacks on science. With his outsized ego, Trump claims to know more than the experts. Sadly many of his cult-like followers believe him and often pay with their lives.
